Winter Warmers
I love a good bargain and I’m one of those accessory junkies with too much of everything you don’t really need and can’t bear to give it away or sell it on ebay!
I have an unbelievable collection of dress jewelry which (a tip I got from my mother) I don’t keep in boxes. I display it all on cork boards, which is perfect for being able to view all your beads, bangles and bracelets at once and choose the set that matches your outfit the best. It also means you actually continue to wear things that you bough a year ago that otherwise would be hidden under the layers of new purchases.
Another thing I have an insane ‘must have’ thing about is winter warmers, your know, scarves, hats and gloves. Not only must they all compliment each other, but they must also compliment the coat (yes I have far too many of those!).
The winter accessories should be right for the temperature and the purpose of my trip out. I hate being cold, but i hate having a sweaty head so I might wear a cap for shopping (when you are constantly in and out of shops switching from the freezing street to the far-too-warm-boutique) and a cosy beanie when out walking. And a girl should always match the headwear with the hairdo so where berrets look lovely and retro when my hair is curly, they look a bit frumpy when my hair is tied back. And poker straight is all that should step out with a beanie! So, when the hat is selected there is the scarf and gloves to consider. Again the scarf shouldn’t make your neck sweat and it MUST go with the hat. With gloves, I have leather, knitted, fingerless and a whole range of colours so whether I’m driving, shopping, walking or going ‘somewhere nice’, there’s a glove for every occasion!
So, the thing that prompted this post was the sale that one of my favourite clothes stores has on at the moment. Big discounts of the Bench and Hooch Hats, Scarves and Gloves. It might not seem like a bargain but these brands bring out practically the same designs every year so why not get in there now and get use out of them over the last month or so of horrible weather and you will be all set for next Winter.
